Why should I donate?

There are many different reasons why as the body of Christ, we are charged with the responsibility to care for the less fortunate. We know that “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” according to Proverbs 19:17. The Holy Bible is filled with examples of why we should take heed to the needy. A profound example can be found in the virtuous wife of Proverbs 31. Verse 20 says, “She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.” The blessing is found in verse 28 which says, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” Her act of giving is one of the many reasons why “The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.”(verses 11-12). These acts of kindness have a rippling effect on those around her as “Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.” (verse 23). When we give, not only are we sowing seeds to be blessed but we also sow seeds for those around us to be blessed!

Act 20:35 reminds us that the Lord Jesus himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Sow a seed by faith today and make a donation; even $1 can make a world of difference in the life of the abandoned and orphaned children in Haiti. According to the 2015 UNICEF country statiscal data there are an estimated 340,000 children that are orphaned due to various reasons. There are 24.3% of female children who are forced to be married. Of those female children 2.8% are married by the age of 15 and 17.5 % are married by the age of 18.We are asking for your support, prayers and donations to ensure that our children never become a statistic and to hopefully provide hope for those that already are.
